Show “The Dirty Thirties with Mary Bateman” see below for source. Have the students interview an older adult in their lives. Have them ask them about different changes that they have seen in their culture throughout their lives. Have them compare their culture when they were in school to the culture of kids today. Stress the importance of having a conversation with the person. The older the person the more changes they will have in their culture and you will have more to write about!
