Students will work in groups of two to research what the original people of America are called and create a media report, of their choosing, on their findings.
Create a detailed description of each of the tribes of North Dakota.

Students will generate a list of things that will need to be researched and included in their report.
Students will create a brochure describing their nationality and where they originally came from using the same descriptor list the class came up with in the previous task.

Taking Informed Action / Real World ApplicationStudents will write a letter to various textbook companies to advocate for the politically correct name to describe the original people of America.

Students will also write local, state and federal agencies with some of their findings regarding the traditional use of the names of the original people of America.
