What do your current students already know about Christopher Columbus in a general classroom discussion?
Share your research findings as a teacher and create a biography of Christopher Columbus of who he was and who he became. Share with the class.
Have classroom students draw a picture depicting what they know about Christopher Columbus and how he might have appeared when he arrived. Share with the class what history has told about Christopher Columbus and what research has uncovered about the real truth behind his exploratory exploits. Be careful not to go into too much graphic detail. Use professional discretion, but don’t sugar coat the truth, or the way history has depicted Columbus.
